Former netball star Kretser to head CDTA

May 10 (Daily Mirror) - The newly elected President of the Colombo District Throwball Association (CDTA) Michelle De Kretser vowed to launch a mega campaign to promote the sport at the school and club level.

The former netball player said that throwball is a popular sport in the Asian region but it is currently played only in some selected parts of the country and would start a new programme from the Colombo District.

She stressed the importance of conducting Inter-Schools and Inter-Club Tournaments and the CDTA will pioneer both events in the future.

Kretser was unanimously elected as the President of the CDTA at their annual general meeting for 2024-2026 held in Colombo.

Fawaz, Shiromini Kingsley, Nilanthi Chandraratne, Nirasha Fernando, Sagarika Gunasinghe, Jennifer Costa, Suneetha Elwatta and Anusha Willarachchi.
