Batsmen Dinesh Chandimal and Avishka Fernando have been axed from the Sri Lanka T20 squad ahead of the three-match series against Zimbabwe which starts in Harare on September 3. Both Chandimal and Fernando were members of the Sri Lanka team that last played in a T20 home series that was against Bangladesh last month.

Sri Lanka Cricket has announced a 17-member squad for the upcoming T20 International (T20I) series against Zimbabwe. The squad was approved by the national selection panel and will be led by Charith Asalanka, who takes on the captaincy role for the series.
