So desperate to hold on to his presidency with a bunch of mostly corrupted and backstabbing people. Just seeing them together Can’t people understand this style of lavish politics will continue if these same so called politicians are elected back. Need drastic changes to cut down on wasteful spending and privileges. Most of them have been around for decades and are responsible for the current situation. They just keep on taking loans to maintain the high expenditure of the government with perks and privileges for themselves but the average citizen is struggling and paying high taxes and using depleted public healthcare/ transportation facilities.

Sri Lanka needs to be able to stand on progress with manufacturing /Product based economy with agriculture , IT and services ,NOT begging from developed nations for MORE LOANS which bring more debts to the nation . It is a pathetic to have such a politician telling people, that he is going to get more debts ( LOANS) from overseers with some people who are untrusted /criminal background on the stage .

all indications are AKD is leading now. All others can not beat AKD . Even if Ranil and Sajith join hand in hand now. it is too late. Look at AKD rally in Galle and Tangallle. and Matrara. AKD is leading. I do not think people are fool this time. Political awakening has already taken place. people know the good and bad in politics now. You can not be fooling people for ever. All what left with Ranil and Sajith are all public fund looters and some old people. people' verdict is final say . I think all others have to pave the way to hand over power peaceful to AKD and concede the defeat respectfully. I think in the final stage Ranil and Sajith will join after some meeting. Ranil will know this soon. Unless he join Sajith his doom day will be soon and even if he join with Sajith, their doom day is nearing as it stands today. These people have conveniently forgotten their comments made regarding ranil, some time ago, and have now joined to support him, not out of concern for the nation or ranil, but to hang onto the last straw of hope in the desperate but futile hope that they will have some semblance of an opportunity to bounce back to their nefarious ways. Incidentally, it is interesting to note how these rascals have deserted the jarapakshas, in front of whom they bent doubly over to worship them addressing them as sir in every phrase they spoke.

Even if Ranil and his followers have moved the start of the election campaign to the "magical" city of Anuradhapura, the center of ancient Buddhism, it will not save his political head!!! His time is up! But if you look at the two most frequently mentioned "remaining candidates", Sajith and Anura Kumara, and their previously known political programs and proposals, then the hopelessness becomes even greater!!! None of these three politicians has anything convincing or groundbreaking to offer for politics in the country towards a better future!!! Mostly it is "old wine in new bottles", or bad, failed politics in new packaging!!! Many things have been promised to the people by these politicians for a very long time, but almost nothing has been kept!!! The radical change of social foundations and a targeted and consistent fight against corruption and its profiteers can only be trusted by Sarath Fonseka, the independent, authentic and charismatic independent presidential candidate!!!

Has he given up UNP membership? How is he an independent candidate? Maybe playing tricks to fool people to think he is independent. Optics don’t look good when old UNP rivals are trying to save their rear ends are supporting the party they have been criticizing for 70 years. “Enemy of my enemy is my friend” - a common man getting into power must be stopped at all costs so the jackals are getting together.

SOB sold his soul And betrayed The GOP UNP!!! RANIL abondded the party and it's members and dumped Elephant symbol. Never happened in the history that a party leader contesting independent , whatta joke!! What's the rationale behind that move. RANIL brought down UNP to rubble. Yeah at last general Elections UNP got measly 249,435 votes out of 16.2 Million eligible voters. That explains why RANIL became independent candidate!!

Beautiful....Ranga tried to extend the term for another two years didn't work...We will never learn, we are talking now after 75 years, we are ruled by pathetic old people who will make us more miserable.. These people with one leg in the grave should retire and enjoy what is looted, solution to this is Anura who is making sense.. People doubt NPP admin strategies, but looking at how they organize things it is clear they will walk the talk..
