Local authorities elections are conducted under the mixed proportional system. It is electing members of a local authority from wards and from a list. The number of members elected on the basis of wards is taken as 60 % in every local authority. The balance 40% is elected on the proportional basis. The total complement of the local authority is the total of these two.
