Sri Lanka secures bid to host Miss Tourism World 2022 grand finale

Miss Tourism World 2022 will host its grand finale in Sri Lanka this December, from 8th to 21st, with 80 winners from 80 countries.
Sri Lanka secured the opportunity to host the event after competing with 15 countries, said Miss Tourism World 2022 Pageant National Director Malith Ranasinghe and State Tourism Ministry Coordinating Secretary and Chief Advisor Dr. Arosha Fernando.
“As you would appreciate lot of hard work went to achieve this success with the fullest support from the government of Sri Lanka as well as from the industry,” said Ranasinghe.

“This is one of the top five pageants globally, which they have continually conducted for the past 74 years and this year, they celebrate the 75th anniversary in Sri Lanka,” he added.
“This event undoubtedly will be one of the best platforms to promote the tourism sector in Sri Lanka at this crucial hour. Contestants from 80 countries will spend two weeks in Sri Lanka from December 8 to 21, attending 80 mini pageants and the grand finale,”
said Dr. Fernando.

“During this process, they will visit Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya, Habarana, Ella, Arugam Bay, Mirissa, Galle etc.,” he added.
Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts welcomed Miss Tourism World International Finale 2022 Global Director David Singh and Miss Tourism World – Spain 2022 winner Maria Del Carmen Benedicto, who arrived in Sri Lanka this week for the official press conference scheduled for today.

Read that the SL representing contestant Thihari was not allowed to take her designed Costume to Malaysia last week for Miss Grand International. It had weighed 27 Kilos and she had paid for excess baggage too. However, she was asked to leave the main costume at customs. In a context like this, with such people surrounded by extreme insensitivity, unawareness and stupidity, wonder how Sri Lanka is even considered to host any such event.

Not heard of Thihari. Had seen the name of the real contestant. Maybe you are related to the actual contestant, otherwise what do you care for her born beauty. 27kg of costume, surely that's the sign of gone too far! Better encourage school girls to go work as housemaid than try with their looks for beauty pageant, as work as housemaid is more decent with honest work.

What does it matter? Beauty pageant is nothing noble. Measurement on looks, scandal should be world and Lanka hold it up as so wonderful and important! Often in Western country most model by 19 who want be this field are well accustomed intimately with many men.

Last year winner makes most of men drool. They forget everything like addicts to see the woman beauty. Some may then wish to spend more for greater experience. This is common problem in wealthy country too.

Miss Tourism World is a never heard of contest, this must be an event just limited to Sri Lanka, or we can pay some people to come here and participate on protests, (just like we did to the Ukrainian tourists) and other exciting events like looking at the dead bodies washed up ashore.

Most of these contestants end up in some line of prostitution. They have nothing but their born looks to compete with. Unless they marry rich businessman, or foolhardy young youth, are best working for persons like Thilini Priyamali.
