Softlogic to open 5-star hotel next March

Sri Lanka’s youngest diversified conglomerate, Softlogic Holdings PLC will be opening its 5-star city hotel under the globally renowned Movenpick brand in March 2016.
“We’ll be opening in March, and I think we’re the first 5-star hotel to be opened in a while,” Softlogic Holdings Chairman/CEO Ashok Pathirage told Mirror Business.
Construction of the US$46.6 million 219-room hotel began in 2013, and was originally set to open for business in time for the 2015 winter peak season.
The 24-storey hotel will include a spa and a rooftop infinity pool.
Pathirage said that Movenpick will only be involved in managing the property.
Softlogic Holdings currently owns the Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa in Aluthgama.
