CIPM and NSBM sign landmark MoU to promote human resources management

CIPM Sri Lanka, the nation’s leader in human resource management, has signed a landmark memorandum of understanding (MoU) recently with the NSBM Green University, the state-of-the-art university renowned for its world-class academic offerings.


The key objective was promoting and developing principles, techniques and practices of human resource management in to order to optimise the utilisation of human resources at national and international levels. 
The MoU was signed between NSBM Green University Vice Chancellor Prof. E.A. Weerasinghe and CIPM President Jayantha Amarasinghe. Witnessing this prestigious occasion was CEO U.A.C. Obesekera, Director Professional and Academic Affairs G. Weerathunge, Head of Division Business School Anushka Earskin and Executive Business Development and Expansions Vasana Rodrigo, representing CIPM. 


Also present were NSBM Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Chaminda Rathnayake, Faculty of Business Dean Thilini De Silva, Management Department Head/Senior Lecturer Sulkshana De Alwis, Management Department Senior Lecturer Bhasuri Amarathunge and Management Department Lecturer Chandima Gayan Yapa, on behalf of the NSBM Green University.


Notably, under the terms of the MoU and ensuing partnership provides a prior learning recognition/exemption plan for students from both institutes. Significantly, CIPM students who have obtained the Professional Qualification in Human Resource Management (PQHRM) and Chartered Qualification in Human Resource Management (CQHRM) are now eligible for entry-level to NSBM’s Postgraduate qualifications. 


Notably, the NSBM collaboration signifies another Sri Lankan university endorsing CIPM, adding to its high esteem and reputation. Working behind the scenes and contributing towards the successful implementation of the MoU were several CIPM officials, including the direct involvement and participation in negotiations with NSBM of CIPM President Jayantha Amarasinghe, who tirelessly ensured the MoU was sealed in less than four weeks. 


Due to his dedicated engagement, CIPM students are now able to receive a maximum advantage in degree pathways and bring recognition to CIPM. The collective effort of a host of other CIPM officials towards signing the MoU should also be recognised, including Dr. Neil Boghalnde, Dillon Gomes, Rajini Kannagara, Dr. Heather Fernando and Council Members and Honorary Secretary Priyankara Perera.
