Two pillows and a mattress have been found in a committee room at the Parliamentary complex and investigations are to be conducted to determine as to why they were brought, an official of the House said.
These two pillows and the mattress were found when an officer of Parliament inspected the committee rooms.
A group of officers have been accused of sexually harassing some young female employees of the Housekeeping Department of Parliament and the committee rooms were searched recently as a result.
In the meantime, the three-member committee appointed to investigate the sexual harassment allegations are continuing investigations.
It is said that the committee has already recorded the statements from nearly 20 people including female employees in this regard.
Meanwhile, it is said that a group of officials of Parliament were attempting to disrupt and influence these investigations. Parliament authorities have paid special attention on the developments. (Sujith Hewajulige)

It is obvious that these types of incidents should not be allowed to happen. Further certain parliamentary officers who wish to capitalise innocent young female workers so as to fulfil their sexual feelings should be avoided

When there is no quorum in the Parliament the Chief Whip should check in the Committee Room for MPs and bring them to make up the quorum. Further the three - member Committee doing the investigation should check the bins for any Condoms.
