State Minister of Production, Supply and Regulations of Pharmaceuticals Prof. Channa Jayasumana said China’s Sinopharm vaccines are safe ones though some people spread misconceptions about it.
He said Sri Lanka would start giving the jabs with Sinopharm once the WHO completes its emergency listing.
“We have witnessed certain scenario in which some parties are spreading views using certain media that Sinopharm vaccines aren't up to the standard.
As a responsible state minister, I can assure you that there is no pressure from the Chinese Government to use it. It is a safe vaccine as per the data we have. Unfortunately, certain individuals who are being used as spies spread ridiculous rumours about the vaccines,” he said. (Kelum Bandara)

You are not a responsible man. You made many dud statements regarding the second dose of AstraZeneca vaccine. Now you are promoting a vaccine with low efficacy not approved by the WHO.

Are politicians, doctors and GMOA 'on the take' to promote AstraZeneca? I believe there is a direct link between AstraZeneca and the '3rd wave'... I trust only Sputnik-V and Sinopharm!

Your credibility is the question here. If it was said by an honest medical professional we take it, but here it is so dangerous

Sinopharm is government backed. Western vaccines are private companies backed. If the Sinopharm vaccine is given go ahead western multinational companies are going to lose millions of dollars. Unfortunately our officials don't have a brain to see the politics behind this or they are bought out by the western pharma companies.

Vital data have not been published in regard to Sinopharm and wait for WHO. Don't become Sri Lanka to a laboratory.
