The Police said they would award a reward of Rs. One million for successful information on the suspects wanted over the recent shooting incident in front of the Kethumathi Hospital in Panadura.
An ambulance driver came under gunshot attack in front of the Kethumathi Hospital on January 27.
Police said four men who arrived on two motorcycles fired gunshots at the ambulance and fled the scene.
The Western Province Crimes Division and Kalutara Crimes Division launched investigation into the incident and released details of two suspects seeking public assistance to arrest them.
Police said one of the suspects was identified as a 24-year-old Kandanaarachchige Pramod Sandakelum alias 'Sim Malli' who is a resident of No. 198, Gemunu Mawata, Walana, Panadura. The other suspect was a 23-year-old Bemina Hanndige Chamidu Sankala Peiris, resident of No 52/1, First Lane, Hirana.
Police requested the public to provide information to the DIG, Western Province Crimes Division via 0718592686 or Director Kalutara Crimes Division via 0718592745 if they have information on the suspects.(DSB)

OMG, people in the country have no money to feed their kids. Meanwhile the police is awash with money to award 1 Mn Rs to a potential informer. Would the informer be someone that already works in the police or local political party? Another form of Legalised corruption, me think!
