At least 21 persons were injured after a lorry travelling from Colombo towards Avissawella collided head-on with a Colombo bound bus from Akkaraipattu at Embulgama, Hanwella early this morning.
Police said the accident occurred on the Colombo Avissawella main road and 20 passengers, and the lorry driver who were injured had been admitted to the Homagama and Navagamuwa hospitals.
Hanwella Police are conducting further investigations. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Private and SLTB busses are responsible for most of the accidents. Plolice should take though action against them.

Lorries, busses, Three Wheelers and Bikes, are the worst kind of drivers. Tgese drivers in Sri Lanka just want to overtake every other vehicle in front. I have seen busses overtaking another busses while three wheelers also try to beat them.
