Those in the opposition should join to form an all-party government and support the incumbent President Ranil Wickremesinghe, SJB MP Kumara Welgama told Parliament today.

“I would like to tell those in the opposition that there is no point in us staying in the opposition. We should therefore become a part of an all-party government. People will remove the incumbent President if he goes wrong and will be grateful to him if he does good,” MP Welgama told Parliament.

“I would also like to tell the Leader of Opposition Sajith Premadasa not to get misled by the terrorist leaders whom he is in dialogue with. They promise you power, but they will never give you power,” he added.

“Dullas is a close friend of mine, but he would have been a puppet of the terrorists who are trying to take over power, if he had been elected President on August 20, 2022. One should elect a leader who could confront the present situation as the President,” he said.

He said it is imperative to destroy the terrorists.

Also he said he is happy to note that veteran politician Dinesh Gunawardene getting his due place as a senior politician who possess vast experience. (Yohan Perera and Ajith Siriwardana)
