The Sri Lanka Navy denied some social media reports that two naval officers had stepped down after the attack on protesters near the Presidential Secretariat at Galle Face Green early yesterday morning.
The social media reported that two navy officers, Janith Rajakaruna and Malshan Prathapasinghe had decided to step down from the Sri Lanka Navy after seeing the "GotaGoGama" brutal attack.
However, the Navy denied such reports and said no sailor or officer of the Sri Lanka Navy stepped down as reported by social media.
They said that the both individuals mentioned in the reports were naval deserters who had been Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL) for past few years.
The Navy said it had already taken legal action against them.

Who is the alternative leader these protesters want to take over the leadership of this nation? A snub nose yellow skin old man? Or a brownie who speaks in Hindi? Wining and dining at others' expense will not be correct solution to Sr Lanka. Sri Lanka is worth much more than that!
