Man complaints of daughter’s affair with Indian woman

A complaint has been lodged against a 24 year old Indian woman who was allegedly in a relationship with a 33 year old woman in Akkaraipattuwa, police said today.

The Indian national had been staying in the 33 year old Sri Lankan woman's house in Akaraipattu for several days when her father, who could not tolerate the unusual behaviour of the two young women, had lodged a complaint with the police.

During investigations the Sri Lankan woman expressed her willingness to leave for India with her friend and if not allowed, they would take their lives.

Police said the Sri Lankan woman is married and mother of a child.

Kalmunai Magistrate M.H.M.Hansa ordered police to refer the two women to a psychiatrist for treatment at the Kalmunai hospital.

They are to be produced in court again today.(Wasantha Chandrapala)
