Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP Shanakiyan Rasamanickam has been restrained from demonstrating against the government by a court order obtained by the Kaluwanchikudy Police, TNA MP M.A. Sumanthiran said.
"MP Rasamanickam has been restrained from demonstrating against the government by a court order obtained by the Kaluwanchikudy Police! Again shows that law enforcement in the North East is different from the rest of the country. Over to those who wonder why North East is reacting differently now!!," Sumanthiran tweeted.
It was reported that the Kaluwanchikudy Magistrate's Court has ordered MP Rasamanickam not attend any anti government protests for 14 days from April 29.
Meanwhile, parliamentarian Rasamanickam said he had absolutely no idea on why he was issued such court order.

Law applies differently. In the north and east people are made to understand in the past and continued even now to suppression. Wait, there will be more court orders, when it comes to remember fallen civilians during the war period. Hope our bros and sisters in the south understand this.

This is absurd. Anyone should have the right for peaceful protest. Very strange to say the least.
