There will never be proof from the culprit. THere is much less news about suffering children than this death about animals. All the Thera will be up in arms about this, but overlook hungry village children saying it is their past life karma which causes children to suffer!

The chickens who aren't killed by dogs could be sold for food! The killing of chickens and by the dogs is wrong too, but residents probably don't care because of their social and religious beliefs. Maybe the anxious residents can become super vegan vegetarian supremacists in protest and desist from eating fish, meat, egg and milk as come from animal. And not feed any to children either, including formula. Maybe resident can pull out their own canine teeth as those are evolutionary for tearing into meat, to become more vegetarian in appearance.

Authorities should take necessary actions to control these stray dogs. It is unfortunate that hundreds of people are victimised due to unorganised breeding of animals. I think this is the best option left to the innocent people if no one is bothered about this problem . Hope this will be extended to the crocodiles also in the canals. there are more than 40 crocodiles around Wellawatta area but no one is worried. When the British were ruling the country. They had introduced systems to control this problems. But now we don’t have a system. Those politicians who are travelling by luxury vehicles are not facing the treat by these dogs but for us it’s an issue.

Those straydogs are a big and dangerous nuisance. Better get rid of them.

Dog meat is delicacy Monday, 10 October 2022 08:50 PM

There would have been a big demand and a market for the dog meat, if we could shipped them to Philippines. Dog meat is a delicacy there. Utter waste of foreign exchange we could have otherwise earned. Don't forget, every dollar counts these days.

Whenever there is cruelty to animals some humans do not focus on the monstrosity that humans are capable of. Instead they speak of starving children, starving humans, vehicle issues, over breeding of dogs, rabies, and our economy. This poisoning of innocent, helpless beings speaks volumes about how vile man can be. And those who agree with these killings are monsters in human form. Hang your heads in shame if you cannot feel compassion for other living beings. I know that the Sri Lanka Police will step in and net in this heartless monster before nature serves him a cocktail of venom in the future.

To all those who comment for this crime. Unorganized breeding of dogs is similar to unorganized breeding of Humans. Those can barely afford two meals, breed children like machine. And then 'demand' from the government to feed their kids born in shrubs! Can a dog do that? I prefer to feed a stray dog than stray children. Period!!!

I think if I see you in great suffering after an accident, I'd rather go look to tend to a child in need being chased by stray dog than bother about you. And it seems your parents were unorganised, conceive a devil minded fellow like you. Please do the rest of the humans a favor and find a way not to breathe in our limited oxygen anymore!

No one has the right to take away a life, be that human or animal. But these stray dogs are becoming a problem to an extent, a number of motorcyclists and bicyclists have been injured or died as they went out of control when these dogs jumped over them. The best solution could be birth control and sending the stray dogs to sanctuaries where they could be looked after well.

Probably the RAJAPAKSHAS were not aware of the dog food is a delicacy in the Philippines, had they known that, they would have defineatly made money on that.

Disgusting people, the murdere and the idiots commenting, just run a sterilization program, don't need to resort to murdering innocent animals, all creatures have a right to live, if you don't like sri lankan Street dogs, go back where you came from

Next they should try to poison those who are corrupt and stealing public funds.

Gunapala Sekarage Tuesday, 11 October 2022 10:57 AM

Whoever done this has misunderstood the difference between the dogs and the politicians. Dogs are innocent - politicians are blood suckers of poor people!!

These dogs are so unlucky to be born in Sri Lanka where they are treated very badly and eventually maimed or killed. Send them over to a western country and they will be happy and treated like royalty. I see many people taking their pet dogs for a walk which resemble very much like the dingo.

    Ajith Tuesday, 11 October 2022 12:34 PM

no one will be prosecuted because this is Sri Lanka land like no other Animals have right to live just like us they feel pain i agree there is a problem but government must have a sterilisation program and not just kill these animals

    annecunt Tuesday, 11 October 2022 02:17 PM

Why do you want to poison innocent dogs while we have rajapaksa family to deal with (corrupt to the core)

    umas Tuesday, 11 October 2022 02:31 PM

Does rajapaksa family eat dog meat. wonder why shirani is so fat

Karannagoda Suriya Tuesday, 11 October 2022 02:47 PM

    annecunt Tuesday, 11 October 2022 03:23 PM

Mohamed Mursi Mushtaq Ahmed Tuesday, 11 October 2022 03:54 PM
