Two Samagi Jana Balawegaya MPs Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara are to leave for Geneva on Monday February 28, 2022 to take up the case of Former MP Ranjan Ramanayake who is currently serving a jail sentence for contempt of Court, one of the MPs said today.

MP Harin Fernando told the Daily Mirror that he and fellow Parliamentarian Manusha Nanayakkara will leave for Geneva on Monday. “We shall take up Ranjan Ramanayake's case in Geneva,” he said.

“There is a clandestine move to prevent our visit to Geneva. A complaint has been made against us accusing us taking a parcel into Parliamentary complex with the objective of preventing us from going to Geneva,” he added.

However, Chief Government Whip Johnston Fernando denied any attempt to arrest Mr. Fernando earlier during the day. The latter said during Parliament sessions that there was s no move whatsoever to arrest MPs Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara. (Yohan Perera)
