The Excise Department refuted social media reports that all liquor outlets in the country will be closed for two days on October 19 and 20.
The Department said the Commissioner General of Excise has only ordered the closure of all licensed retail liquor outlets island-wide on the occasion of the full moon day, which falls on October 20.

Have them open always. the affluent, the Ministers have their stocks of good liquor and the have it on poya days without restrictions
