A considerable number of COVID deaths has been reported due to the delay in seeking immediate medical assistance, Health Promotion Bureau Director Consultant Dr. Ranjith Batuwanthudawa said today.

Addressing the media, he said they had noticed this after analysing the recent deaths in the country.

“About 80% of the COVID patients would not show severe health deterioration caused by the virus, but only a few patients would end up with severe complications,” he said.

“However, it is much important to identify those who are subject to severe complications; otherwise there would be lesser chance of getting such patients back to the normal condition,” Dr. Batuwanthudawa stressed.

Therefore, he urged people to seek immediate medical assistance, if anyone feels under the weather without letting symptoms lead to complications.

Meanwhile, the Director said when analysing the symptoms of COVID victims, it has been found that there were no common symptoms for the people above 60 years of age, whereas there were only symptoms like eating disorders and headache.

Thus, he reiterated the necessity to seek immediate medical assistance if anyone develops unusual symptoms in his/her body. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

This is the proof that what the doctors know about the Science of Medicine is zero. The doctors are considered “ medical experts “ only because they are defined by the system as “medical experts”.

While you say there is no major symptoms how can the unknown public seek medical care. Only option available for them is your help to test them on time and vaccinating them as early as possible to save the live.

Just give a call to one of the designated numbers. Usually no response. By the time they are contacted the patient is dead at home.

Delay in seeking medication or delay in providing health care?

    Saras Thursday, 10 June 2021 11:08 AM

You all can say various things and put the blame on the public but the well known fact is that prevention is the best cure.. unless you increase the vaccination, and PCR tests and timely curfews it will be impossible to curb the spread.

Let us accept that the entire Covid management system has collapsed due to incompetence, poor decision making , lack of expertise and disastrous planning. There is no way out now. Only hope is rapid vaccination. Here again we are at the end of the queue because we were amongst the few countries that did not order any vaccines until early this year. We are paying the price for replacing the people who managed the first wave with a bunch of novices.

Dr. Ranjit Batuwantudawa does not seem to have realised that the majority dying belong to the Over 60 group as they were deleted from the Priority List for Vaccination ?
