A Chief Inspector, Sub Inspector and eight civilians had been arrested by the Wild Life Department officials for allegedly hunting in the Wilpattu National Wildlife Sanctuary, the Police said.
The Chief Inspector, who is the OIC of the Puttalam Division SP office Special Crimes Investigations Division and the SI were arrested with the civilians, believed to be their friends with two tortoises.
The suspects were to be produced in the Puttalam Magistrate’s Court today, the Police said.(Hiran Priyankara)

Never heard of this type of arrest before. May be - just may be, we are now moving in the right direction with each department acting independently and performing their function.
