Temporarily assigned teachers should return after school resumes: Ministry

All national school teachers who have been temporarily attached to another school and have completed their assignments should report to their permanent place after schools re-open, the Education Ministry said.

The Ministry said teachers attached to National Schools were assigned to other schools during the period when schools were closed due to the Covid-19 situation.

If it is desired to further extend the attached tenure, a request should be made to the Director of Education (Teacher Transfer) after the commencement of school with the recommendation of the principal of his/her permanent place of work, the Ministry said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
