Colombo, July 21 (Daily Mirror) - The son of former State Minister Shanta Bandara has been arrested by the Colpetty Police in connection with the alleged robbery of Rs. 20 million belonging to a Chinese national.
Police said the 21-year-old suspect was taken into custody as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident, which allegedly took place on July 13.
Police said the robbery occurred while the Chinese national was transporting the cash in a vehicle.
Police have already arrested four other suspects in connection with the incident, all of whom have been remanded pending further investigations.
Police said that a grandson (19) of a prominent businessman is among those allegedly linked to the case.
The 21-year-old suspect is expected to be produced before court.
