Staff Sergeant K.I.S. Keerthirathna, Senior Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) of 3 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (3 SLSC) of the army successfully completed a historic foot expedition to Dondra, covering an astounding distance of 580.16 kilometres in just 12 days.
This journey commenced on September 5th and saw Staff Sergeant Keerthirathna embarking on an expedition that would eventually place him in the annals of world records. His route took him through some of Sri Lanka's most challenging terrain, including Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Medawachchiya, Anuradhapura, Kurunegala, Colombo, Aluthgama, Galle and Matara, before finally arriving at the iconic destination of Dondra.
A significant moment of recognition occurred as representative members of the Serendib World Records Committee officially acknowledged Staff Sergeant Keerthirathna's remarkable achievement.
In a ceremony held at the Sri Vishnu Maha Devala shrine in Dondra, they confirmed his entry into the prestigious Serendib World Records and presented him with a well-deserved certificate, cementing his place in history.

If it is an Army chap then there is bound to be some notoriarity behind it. These guys are very famous to participate in marathons and secretly have there colleagues pick them half way and drop them close to the end point.
