Colombo, July 10 (Daily Mirror) - The Government Ayurveda Medical Officers' Association (GAMOA) has claimed that special Ayurvedic medicines have been developed to combat the dengue virus.
Addressing the media, GAMOA President Upul Konthasinghe said the medicines had been prepared to boost the immunity of the public and dengue patients.
He said the Western Province Ayurvedic Department had introduced a new medicine and was distributing it among households in the province as part of efforts to control the spread of dengue.
The department is also distributing dust used for mosquito fogging activities, he added.
Konthasinghe requested the public not to discard the distributed items, noting that State funds had been spent on their production and distribution.
