Colombo, April 30 (Daily Mirror) - The leader of the Eksath Janaraja Peramuna and MP Patali Champika Ranawaka, arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to provide a statement.
Earlier, the CID had informed Ranawaka to report to their office today to record a statement regarding comments he made in Ratnapura.

Could they question him about the unopened Kollupitiya section of the marine drive road? Thus far only the contractor and related parties seem to have benefited as the public, whose funds were utilized are not able to use the road--5 years after completion? And didn't CR also have scheme to make petrol from water? What happened to the vehicle he was shown pumping this invention into?

This is nothing but to harass Ranawaka if the statement was required on the Tax evaders he mentioned in Ratnapura. It is common knowledge that many evade taxes and this can be viewed from the living standards of many who claim to be doing business
