Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa urged President Ranil Wickremesinghe to hand over the investigations into the Easter Sunday attacks to former Director of the CID Shani Abeysekara.
The Opposition Leader told Parliament that Shani Abeysekara was successfully carrying out investigations into the attacks before he was removed from the investigations.
"He is an honest official whom even President Ranil Wickremesinghe trusted," he said.
Premadasa said they were demanding an international probe as a transparent and reasonable investigation was not conducted locally.
"We need the truth to be revealed. We don't want an international probe or international investigators if a transparent investigation is condected locally," he said. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

Sajith, please remember one thing very clear. Ranil is Rajapakses man. He will not agree to your request. I need justice for all those who were killed on the Easter bomb attack. Only international investigation can bring justice to those dead.

Shani Abeyasekara and rest of the investgative officers removed from the investigations at the inception of Easter Sunday attacks, Lasanthas' extermination in public, at day light, should be reinducted to carryout a free and fare investigation/s, without further delay, with maximum protection and additional powers to question anyone, irrespective of their status.

Everyone taking about Easter bombings , no action– seems like nobody's helping the victims. We need a system to support them and their kids. Karma's already dealt with the culprits, that's why Rajapaksha's and Sira aren't in politics now. Like those marine creatures munching on a dead whale, we can't forget this. For the victims, it's their daily reality. Let's focus on our economy and make a plan to move forward.

As a future President you cannot be changing like a Chameleon (Katussa) who changes colours as your first request was for an International Probe. Being the first investigating officer Shani Abeysekera could corroborate the International team since he has at his finger tips the salient information of this crime and will be able to contribute substantially to smoke out the devilish culprits who are living in comfort zones as Prisoners of Conscience.

If Ranil is an honest person. He will request the assistance of the foreign intelligence agencies that lost their citizens in the Easter attack, SL CID, and also Shani as the representative of the civilians to join hands and investigate the Easter attack.
