Gotabaya visits Mahinda at Carlton House

Colombo, Sept. 19 (Daily Mirror) - Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa visited his brother, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, at Carlton House in Tangalle today (19).

Mahinda Rajapaksa, who vacated his official residence on Wijerama Mawatha in Colombo, was received by family members, well-wishers, and supporters when he returned to his long-time residence in Tangalle.

Crowds from across the country have been visiting Carlton House to greet the former President, many expressing their delight at his return to his hometown residence.

Brothers and Families getting together privately is normal and not newsworthy. As a progressive country in future, we must however have constitutional mechanisms in place to prevent any such Families from abusing power in politics and governance. Sri Lanka is a classic example of a failed country that was ruined by Dynastical politics since its independence. These tribal behaviors and thinking of the country also have to be eradicated if Sri Lanka is ever going to progress in the emerging world. We cant continue like this.
