Dont take these statements seriously. Few months ago they made statements after statements assuring that online passport program promising one day service and issue of normal passport within a short period of time. Taking that is true I and my wife have ( Both senior citizens)applied for the passports on line on 05/9/ 2023. As we have not received our passports even up to 12 of December after 4 months, we both have proceeded to the passport office in Battharamulla. Finally the passport were received by us on the 16 January 2024. I should not fail to mention that the officers at Baththramulla offices were very helpful in this regard. Since this is the experience I had please dont get carried by these rosy statements since they are untrue.

Many countries have turned to E-Passports and this could be a necessity. With this passport substituting the photos will not be possible as a chip embedded in the passport contain all information about the holder

Spending money to send valuable people out of the country. Why don't they spend the money on revenue generating ventures for the country.

"Sri Lankan passport will become one of the most well-recognized passports among other countries." Great but a visa is still required to travel to other countries, right?

WHAT A JOKE PASSPORTS GOING EEEEEE WHILE THE COUNTRY IS GOINGGGGGGGG ZZZZZZZZZZ. THE WORLD IS NOT WORRIED ABOUT SRI LANKANS HAVING E PASSPORTS, THEY ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT THE MILLIONS SUFFERING IN THE COUNTRY. HOPE THIS IS DONE WITH WORLD EXPERT ASSISTANCE OR ELSE SCAMMERS WILL GET INTO THE SYSTEM AND ALL HELL WILL BREAK LOOSE.
