Discussions still underway to implement work-from-home system



Colombo, March 16 (Daily Mirror) - Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Prof. Chandana Abeyratne said that no final decision has been made so far regarding the implementation of a work-from-home system for public servants and that discussions are still ongoing.

The Minister said that the government has turned its attention to the possibility of allowing public servants to perform their daily duties from home in view of the prevailing situation in the country.

The Minister said that discussions are currently underway regarding how the daily operations of institutions, including state institutions, should be carried out under the present circumstances. According to him, the government is consulting with relevant parties and authorities as part of this process.

He said that the public will be informed once a final decision is reached on the matter.
