The Judicial interdictions have reached an alarming level. How did this happen so suddenly ??? Were these tolerated in the past?? The Chief Justice should take immediate action to stem the rot.

I recently seen a judgement delivered by a court in the north and dumfounded to see the contradiction in the reasoning to reach the judgement. Even a first year law student will find it difficult to accept. Poor quality judgment seems to be the norms and authorities should look into this too. All the lawyers Now it’s waits for appeal hearing, waste of time and money. The judges need proper training, otherwise the judiciary will lose credibility.

While the govt dismantles the infrastructure of corruption created and then set in motion by the Wickremesinghe’s Rajapakses we Sri Lankans can only hope for a better Sri Lanka. We can feel it and we can sense it. This why we have an agitated opposition screaming that the government is failing. The opposition knows well enough their time is near before true justice takes its course.

It's not just the judges, every aspect of society is corrupt. It's like a cancer that has spread throughout the body of society. It will take many years of NPP chemotherapy to get rid of even a part of it. An entirely new generation has to be born who would not dream of taking bribes etc. and that will take a long time.

There was a time when judges were not free to function according to judicial guidance or precedents. A junior judge from Sri Lanka, who deserted post was working in a 5 star hotel in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. He was not keen to meet visitors from his motherland. He had to keep away from his job after spending time and money for studies, due to political pressure.

It is very important for a country to have a clear and confidence Judiciary and to have such there should be independently working judicial officers . The Judicial Service Commission taking serious actions against misconducts of Judicial officers is paramount to have a clear judicial process in the country and also it enhances people's trust on the Justice system in a country . In the developed world the justice system is independent and above an any individual .

It is surprising Prof G L Pieris as Justice Minister did nothing to clean up the judiciary. Having been born before independence and growing up in the early post independent era should have made him to see the fall in standards and action taken to rectify it. Instead, he got involved in racist politics forgetting that he was the Co -Architect of the proposed constitution unveiled by President Chandrika which would have solved the problems and gained respect for the country.

Rot set up by the corrupt Ranil-Rajapassa and Hotu Pohottu governments to rescue their mafia acolytes, thieving ministers and MPs of all sorts. Current government is identifying the rotten apples and ejecting them, mercifully before the rot gets to the brain. Well done Commission, please continue with the good work, and do identify those cases where these corrupt magistrates and judges passed questionable judgments.
