After A/Ls vocational education for students in school itself from February: Minister

Colombo, Jan 22 (Daily Mirror) - A programme with practical training and theoretical rehearsals on vocational education with knowledge on information technology, including English language will be provided to students who complete their Advande Level (A/L) examination this year from February, said Education Minister Susil Premajayantha.

He said this vocational training programme will be implemented in 299 selected schools in the island with the aim of directing students who complete their high school education towards vocational education.

Students sitting for the GCE A/L Examination in January 2024 can register themselves for this programme before February 9, the Minister added.

He further mentioned that more related information can be obtained from the Skills Development Officers of the Divisional Secretariats.

That is one of it the brilliant ideas . Schools should guide and help their students in all walks of life this include their career development and success in life ..schools used to forget them after A/L examination some of students never go to schools afterwards..this is a good idea to enrich their skills and succeed in life Builders ; mechanics; carpenters :plumbers;/technicians and IT professionals are in good demand.. NVQ courses are needed badly Expand education and training Skills and talents are bought and sold . We sri Lankans have good talents and skills but find difficult to sell them without training and guidance. Good luck and hope this goes beyond election promise
