Can a learned legal expert clarify the following points? Are similar accidents involving members of the general public also immediately handled by magistrates, with compensation awarded on the spot? On what basis is the compensation amount determined? Who benefits from such rapid court settlements? I was under the impression that cases typically go through multiple hearings with numerous postponements before a final judgment is reached. As far as I know, only out-of-court settlements are concluded this quickly.

No matter who's fault it was, why was the motor cyclist carrying a total of 4 passengers two adults and two children, this is illegal. Let us now get to the details, who's fault was it the car driver or the cyclist?. Prayers for the injured to have a full recovery. Will let the courts take the matter up. Did the Motor Cyclist have a license or was he riding a family or friends motor bike?.

There has been a concern regarding the use of the official vehicle over the weekend by Dr. Nalaka’s wife. Specifically, questions have arisen such as: under what circumstances is it permissible for the official vehicle to be used for personal or family purposes, outside regular working hours? Furthermore, who is responsible for covering the overtime payment for the driver when such trips are made—should this cost be borne by the government ( tax payers) ?

I am baffled by the speed at which this particular case has been handled by the courts. Usually the driver is produced on the following day and is either remanded or enlarged on bail. The case itself will be given a date after weeks or months, allowing the police to go into the details of the accident. We are always asking the judicial process to be accelerated, but not to this level. And that too, only for some privileged people. They say justice delayed is justice denied, but at the same time justice meted out on the spot may lead to kangaroo courts!

Is this a system change and can all motorists be bailed out after an On the Spot settlement? Were the injured motorcycle riders produced before the magistrate too, to record the agreement? Or did the magistrate visit the hospital to do the needful?

Don't complain. After all, it's the President's Secretary's wife who was in the Secretary's car and going about "Official Business"? Furthermore, your average citizen involved in an accident wouldn't have been given bail and released almost immediately and ordered to pay a measly 35K??? Of course it's the President's Secretary's wife and rules are NOT THE SAME. The change that was promised! But of course there are people who can only see the fault of the bike rider taking 3 people with him, as if this doesn't happen everyday.
