Road to unleash: The path from amateur to Pro in MMA is set again!


Unleash Global, with its “UNLEASH” brand, South Asia’s emerging combat sports promotion, is set for another electrifying event: Road to Unleash 2 (The Reckoning) at Royal MAS Arena on September 27, 2025.
 
Unleash Absolute Warrior, its apex event, held its Season 1 fight card in June this year with overwhelming spectator feedback. Unleash Absolute Warrior Season 2 is in the making, to be held in January 2026, which is expected to be an event with much higher regional attention, with many foreign and local pro athletes taking part. Road to Unleash is a platform to provide the opportunity for amateur athletes to demonstrate their talent and grow to be qualified for apex events of Unleash.
 
September 27, 2025, will be the turning point for many young, not-much-known amateur fighters in the MMA format to get elevated into a more professional mode in the sport. The card includes the first-ever Unleash female fight, as well as an international bout. Mohamed Saifshaan is flying down from Maldives to face N. Sriharish from Sri Lanka.
The Co-Main event will be no less exciting, where Saadh Basri from Natural MMA club will face Anuk Hettiarachchi from Fitness 360. Both are highly talented youngsters from two leading international schools in Colombo.

  • 2. Saadh Basri (Natural MMA) vs Anuk Hettiarachchi (Fitness 360) - Co-Main event
  • 3. Pavani de Lanka vs Shaini Chamodya - This is a historic moment for Unleash as it presents its first-ever female fight. Pavani de Lanka, a celebrated Muaythai fighter with a record of 5-4, has an impressive list of accolades including a gold medal and the "best female fighter of the year" award at the WBC Amateur Muaythai Championship 2024. She also holds the National Muaythai Championship Sri Lanka 2023 gold medal.
  • 4. Dulaj Hesara (SLIIT) vs Muadh Cadar (Glory MMA)
  • 5. Sanija Pathirage (TEBA MMA) vs Randul Gangodawatta (UCC)
  • 6. Mohamed SaifShaan (Maldives) vs N. Sriharish (Cobra King)
  • 7. Avinash Dayarathne (LFG) vs Mohamed Saukath Ali (IMA) - Avinash Dayarathne, a 19-year-old fighter, brings a solid record of achievements to the ring. He is a 2025 Muaythai National gold medalist, a 2024 Youth Wushu gold medalist, and a 2024 WBC Muaythai gold medalist.

  • 9. Pasindu Tharanga (Team Boyka) vs Inas Ahmed (UCC)
  • 10. Rahman Faiz (Fitness 360) vs Dhanush Niranjan (Natural MMA)
  • 11. Nethmi Wasana vs Methmi Mahagamage (Fitness 360) - R.A. Nethmi Wasana, an 18-year-old Wushu champion from Rathnapura, has had an impressive year, securing first place at the International Martial Art Gems 2025 in Thailand, All Island School Games Wushu 2024, and the National Youth Junior Wushu Championship in both 2024 and 2025.
