Land Rover’s all-new Discovery Sport is now available in Sri Lanka

The latest luxury SUV of iconic motoring brand, Land Rover, has now reached Sri Lankan shores. Through SML Frontier Pvt Ltd, the sole agents of Land Rover in Sri Lanka, the all-new Discovery Sport has been made available to the brand’s ever-growing customer base across the island. The vehicle is an imposing SUV that has taken prestige and luxury to the highest level in its own right. This brand new Discovery Sport will simply become the industry leader in its own class.

The all-new Discovery Sport is equipped with a four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. The 2.2-litre turbo diesel features high-pressure direct injection, low-friction internal components and smart regenerative charging for outstanding performance and fuel economy. The turbo diesel motor is mated to a responsive nine speed automatic, which is refined and punchy. It makes sure the Discovery Sport surges forward with alacrity, thanks to the 400Nm of torque that comes in at 1750rpm.

Thanks to Land Rover’s leadership in aerospace-inspired, high-performance lightweight structures, the monocoque chassis enables the new vehicle to significantly enhance both performance and efficiency. The new SUV features a rigid, high-strength steel and boron body shell, with a roof that will support more than 4.5 times the vehicle weight. The vehicle also has a comprehensive occupant safety package including driver and passenger airbags, a driver knee airbag, and side curtain and thorax airbags. The Discovery Sport has been awarded the maximum five star safety rating from the Euro NCAP crash test.

To ensure exceptional durability and reliability, the all-new Discovery Sport has been subjected to Land Rover’s stringent on- and off-road testing and development regime. The fleet of development vehicles have covered thousands of miles over many months of arduous tests, in over 20 countries with different extremes of climate and road surfaces.

Land Rovers are renowned for providing their drivers with a sensation of calming isolation from the hectic world outside, and the new model has been engineered to meet the highest luxury car standards of refinement.
