17 shops burned in Mawanella

Seventeen shops standing behind the main bus stand at Mawanella were burned to the ground by a fire. The losses run into many millions.
The Mawanella Pradeshiya Sabha fire brigade had put out the fire. Police believe the fire was caused by a short circuit.
Police are conducting further inquiries.
