Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardane said Sri Lanka registered protest over a twitter by the Office of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) including video footage of wartime scenes.
Mr. Gunawardane told Daily Mirror that it was a deviation of the practice by the OHCHR, and therefore Sri Lanka communicated its protest.
In the Twitter message, the OHCHR said Sri Lanka’s failure to address past violations had heightened the risk of human rights violations being repeated. The message is carried with a video footage with scenes from the war front.
“This Twitter message is a total deviation from the procedure laid down in this regard. It is utterly biased,’’ he said.
Sri Lanka is listed for scrutiny at the next session of the UNHRC between February 12 and March 19.

How dare they use such videos? Such videos are used only during elections in Sri Lanka.

It is becoming clearer as to who is behind this video now. These are the very same people who deceived the west by showing them Kataragama religious acts performed by devotees as torture to certain minorities in Sri Lanka. They are now making movies from doctored footage. Shame on them. No they do not have any shame.

A protest against the truth? Wake up Mr. Gunawardane and accept that there are many war criminals in Sri Lanka.

So, Mr Gune, you protested. Ha! Ha!! What else can you do? After all, soon you will be going to the West with the begging bowl. You can protest all what you want, with the tail firmly stuck between your legs. You think the UNHCR will care about your protests?
ChanakaJ Monday, 01 February 2021 02:31 PM
With such bias and prejudice, can UN be a credible institution, or is it also highly corrupt?

Have they also circulated videos of Israelis shelling Palestinian schools or Iraqi doctors getting butted in the face by US rifles? If not, why not?

We should all ask the numerous UN post holders festering in this country to explain this behaviour in full!

Truth always hurt. War criminals in Srilanka will never accept the truth.
