Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe is reported to have told the Cabinet Ministers that some of the ministers were in powwow with President Maithripala Sirisena.

Asserting that unity among the ministers was needed for his party to forge ahead, he said all should work together. Also, he said Public Enterprise Minister Lakshman Kiriella stood by him right throughout, and therefore he had been victimized.

He said Mr. Kiriella’s subjects were curtailed because he unwaveringly stood by him and played a pivotal role in Parliament during the 52-day government.  (Kelum Bandara)
