PNB hunts for fled drug trafficker

The Police Narcotic Bureau today released a photograph of a suspect wanted over drugs trafficking and seeking public assistance to trace him.

On December 21, 2020, the Sri Lanka Navy seized a multi-day trawler with 5.9 kg of Ice (methamphetamine)2 kg of heroin and cannabis in the waters off Dodanduwa, Galle. Four suspects were also arrested along with the contraband.  

However, the navigator of the trawler fled the scene and the police are seeking the assistance of the public to arrest him.

The suspect, Indika Lakmal (NIC No. 871483060V) and a resident of 75, Wellamadama, Rassadeniya in Devinuwara, Matara, and currently lives at 29/2, Ranasinghe Road, Ja-Ela.

The Police request the public to alert the Director of the PNB 0718591876 or PNB 011-2447943 or 011-2343333 if they have any information of this suspect. (DSB)
