The police today denied news reports circulated on social media and on YouTube over imposing an islandwide curfew from today 12 midnight till May 17.
Police Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana said that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has initiated investigation into the false contents of the news items.
He said a panic situation was created among the general public due to the content of such news.
DIG Rohana said that stern action will be taken against the perpetrators.(DSB)

Srilankans have little discipline, hence some sort of lockdown is necessary. Travel should be restricted to local areas only. What is the difficulty to have a daily lockdown and ease for about 6 hours to buy their needs and medicines.
