The Officer in Charge of the Colombo Crimes Division, Chief Inspector Neville de Silva said before Nugegoda Magistrate U. Harsha Palpola that he was not notified to obtain an arrest warrant on interdicted Embilipitiya High Court Judge Gihan Pilapitiya, since there was no notification received to arrest him.
He also said that he was not prepared to give a deposition to obtain an arrest warrant on Gihan Pilapitiya, since he was not advised to name Gihan Pilapitya as a suspect.
He said the arrest warrant on the former High Court Judge had been issued for conspiring to fabricate false evidence together with MP Ranjan Ramanayaka. This case was taken before the court yesterday, following a court order on February 12, asking to make a formal request with the deposition of the Investigation officer to issue this arrest warrant.
