Prime Minister’s Senior Advisor Charitha Ratwatte in a letter addressed to Ven. Ududumbara Kassapa Thera had informed him to propose amendments to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Agreement which is to be signed with the USA.
Prime Minister’s office said in a statement that Mr. Ratwatte had also sent a copy of the MCC Agreement and had requested the prelate who staged a protest against the proposed agreement recently.
“Please go through the copy of the agreement and send us the areas which you think is harmful to the nation, so that the agreement could be amended accordingly,” the letter sent by Mr. Ratwatte to the prelate said. (Yohan Perera)
