Former Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Media Manager and commentator Brian Thomas who was arrested over an alleged Rs. 143 million financial fraud was yesterday ordered to be released on bail by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
 
When the case was taken up before Colombo Chief Magistrate Buddika Sri Ragala, the Magistrate ordered to release the suspect on a cash bail of Rs. 25,000 and two sureties of Rs. 500,000. 
 
Earlier, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed Court that the investigation was initiated on a complaint lodged with the CID on March 20, 2019 by a businessman named Dinesh Saftari. (Yoshitha Perera)

    Accused of 143 million fraud and bail only 25,000 ! I see that he is well connected! If I steal a coconut then bail must be 1 cent (proposition to the accused crime)
