Authorities have decided to close the arrival and departure terminals at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake for visitors with immediate effect.
Airport officials said the decision for closure would remain until further notice.
It is reported that the decision was taken due to the escalation in Covid spread in the country.

There's news item here that says Prasanna Ranatunga declared the BIA will continue to be open for arrivals and departures. What the hell is going on? (Exports, manufacturing industries depleted, Total dependency on handouts from tourists and aid donors)
