India has assured its support to upkeep and protect the territorial sovereignty of Sri Lanka during the UNHRC, as our closest neighbour, Foreign Secretary Admiral Jayanath Colombage said.
Foreign Secretary Colombage also confirmed that there will be no room for one-sided adjudications by foreign bodies in which judge, jury & executioner can be any one entity. “Sri Lanka is committed to working in partnership with any entity as long as its sovereignty is honoured,” he added. Meanwhile, he said good work begun by previous Government under President Maithripala Sirisena in setting up the independent commissions for reconciliation, reparation & integration is being empowered and continued under present Government, with recommendations being adhered to.
