Mr. Premadasa will appoint a general secretary to the alliance in his capacity as its leader. He will have the final say when it comes to candidates who will be contesting from the alliance

Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa will appoint a general secretary to the UNP-led alliance before Thursday (6), UNP MP S.M. Marikkar told a press conference held yesterday.
“Mr. Premadasa will appoint a general secretary to the alliance in his capacity as its leader. He will have the final say when it comes to candidates who will be contesting from the alliance. However, the MPs who boycotted the last working committee meeting have not yet decided as to whether they would continue that practise,” he said.
Meanwhile, he called for a proper probe on the Airbus deal while stressing that those who were made responsible for the bond scam in the forensic audit report would be penalised without delay.
