Procurement of a capacity of 150 Mega Watt from solar power   

The Government had granted approval to implement the procurement process for initiating solar power plants with a capacity of 150 megawatt each in various places in the island. Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal submitted by the Minister of Electricity for awarding the relevant procurements to selected bidders for the Grid Sub Stations of Anuradhapura, Habarana, Matara, Galle, Deniyaya, Kosgama, Mathugama, Pannala, Mahawa and Kurunegala for a period of 20 years  



Disposal of unusable materials in Kankesanthurai Cement Factory premises  

A five-member committee had been appointed to conduct a site inspection and then submit a status report containing recommendations on the removal of unusable material from Kankesanthurai Cement Factory to clean up the factory premises.
