Bereaved family contract Covid-19 after embracing corpse

Bereaved family members of a 55-year-old’person who had passed away have contracted Covid-19 after embracing the deceased. A PCR test performed on the deceased 55-year-old resident of Sinhapura, Kolonnawa, had confirmed that the person had been infected with COVID-19.

Two members of the family who had embraced the corpse, had contracted Coronavirus. While three other persons who attended the funeral too have contracted the disease.

Steps have been taken to quarantine all persons who attended the funeral.
