Tornado hits Matara

A tornado damaged about 40 houses today in several areas of the Matara district, disaster management center officials said. Adding to this they stated that these winds mainly affected the Polhena, Yatiyana, Kadawedduma areas. The picture shows the small tornado that appeared in the sea. Pix by Krishan Jeewaka Jayaruk.

This reminds the movie "The day after tomorrow". These things were extremely rare in Sri Lanka until recent past; however we witnessed several Tornados in few weeks time.
This shows that Earth is heading towards some kind of a climatic change!!!
