Foreign Ministry to set up ‘Knowledge Platform’ to pursue economic diplomacy

A ‘Knowledge Platform’, an online Internet information platform to promote economic diplomacy, would be launched by the end of the first quarter of 2016, Foreign Affairs Deputy Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva said.
Deputy Minister de Silva revealed this yesterday during the second meeting of the ‘Inter Agency Task Force on Promotion of Economic Diplomacy’ set up to coordinate among various government agencies and chambers of commerce to push the economic diplomacy agenda by the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
This Knowledge Platform is being built to provide important and up-to-date information on economic, trade, investment and related information on Sri Lanka to its high commissions and embassies in foreign countries and also obtain country-specific information from the missions abroad.
