BU DHABI: UAE Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Mahmoud Mohamed Al Mahmoud held a meeting with Wimal Weerawansa, Minister for Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities of Sri Lanka and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of boosting them.
The two sides reviewed UAE humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka, especially after the tsunami, including the construction of thousands of homes for affected families in addition to establishing a number of orphanages, schools, health centres along with providing medical equipment to a number of hospitals.
The ambassador also discussed the possibility of acquiring land for building an integrated village-funded by the Sharjah Charity Association. (Source: Gulf Today)
